The SubGuard dashboard: upcoming subscriptions and amounts

01The problem

Small subscriptions pile up, and you forget where your card is saved. Most apps that fix this want access to your bank account.

02The approach

You import your transaction file (CSV or XLSX) and the app suggests weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly subscriptions, each with its evidence and a confidence level. Detection uses fixed interval rules, not an AI model, so every suggestion can be explained. A “card places” screen lists every merchant that appeared in your transactions, even once.

03What exists

All user data is stored as one snapshot encrypted with AES-256-GCM under a non-exportable Android Keystore key, and backups use a separate passphrase. The app requests no internet or SMS permission and never asks for a full card number or CVV. The interface runs in right-to-left Arabic and English, light and dark.

04Where it stands

A debug APK was built and installed on an Android 12 emulator, with 29 tests passing: 22 unit tests and 7 on-device. There is no signed release yet, and PDF import and bank connections don't exist. The known-limits list says so.
